Six persons have been sentenced to life imprisonment by a local court for circulating fake Indian currency.
The sentence was pronounced by the Fifth Additional District and Session Judge yesterday.
The Special Task Force (STF) had arrested six persons - Rajendra Shah, Naresh alias Mukhtar, Bikhari Mukhia (all residents of Bihar), Abdul Rauf and Shabbir Sheikh (both from Shajapur), and Ramnarayan Parmar - from Kalapipal in Madhya Pradesh's Shajapur district on January 22, 2010.
Fake Indian currency with a face value of 2.43 lakh was seized from them.
The STF had later submitted a charge sheet against the six accused.
After the trial, the court awarded life imprisonment to all six of them.
