Six girls rescued before being trafficked to Delhi, 2 held

Two persons, including a woman, were arrested from New Alipurduar railway station last night where the group was waiting for the Dibrugarh-Delhi Brahmaputra Mail.

All the girls were from Kartika Tea Estate in Alipurduar in Jalpaiguri district except one who hailed from Assam, the sources said adding they were lured by assurance of jobs in Delhi.

The girls, in the age group of 13-18 years, were sent to a home in Jalpaiguri.

When produced before the SDJM's court in Alipurduar today, the two arrested, identified as Anita Bagwal and Sil Kumar Panna, were remanded to seven days' police custody.
