The two sides indulged in brick-batting over playing of a DJ during the immersion, he said.
During the immersion in Kothilwan village this evening members of the opposite community raised objections over loud sound from speakers, Additional Superintendent of Police Ruchita Chaudhary said.
She said that in the meantime unidentified persons allegedly pelted stones which hit others.
The ASP said that this led to brick-batting between the two communities in which six persons sustained minor injuries.
Chaudhary said that though there was no tension in the area additional force has been called in as a preventive measure.
