Six killed, 20 injured as bus turns turtle

Six persons, including a pedestrian, were killed on the spot and 20 others injured when the private bus they were travelling in turned turtle near Avanashi in Tirupur district today, police said.
They said the driver lost control of the vehicle after applying the brakes while trying to avoid the pedestrian walking in the middle of the road. The bus then swerved and turned turtle.
All the injured have been hospitalised.
The bus was coming here from Erode when the mishap occurred.
