Six killed in Katihar road accidents

Six persons were killed and two others injured today in separate road accidents under Kursela police station area of Katihar district, police said.
Three persons, including a girl, were killed and another was injured after a motorbike carrying them was first hit by a truck and then by a bus in the process of overtaking the two-wheeler on a bridge over Kosi river.
All the four occupants of the bike were taken to the Sadar hospital at Purnea where three of them -- Subodh Thakur, Ajay Thakur (both in 20s) and Sunita Kumari (12) -- died while Munna Thakur was battling for life, the police said.
In another incident, two persons were killed and another injured as an unidentified vehicle rammed into their motorcycle on Kursela-Forbesganj state highway, police said.
The deceased were identified as Anup Lal Mandal and Pankaj Kumar, and the injured man was admitted to a hospital at Purnea.
In another accident, a jeep hit a motorcycle near Kabir Ashram on state highway-31 killing Dharmvir Kumar (28) riding it on the spot, the police said.
