Six new govt colleges to come up in Haryana

Haryana government will set up six new government colleges in the state.
Addressing a seminar here today on 'Catalysing Reforms in Higher Education', Principal Secretary Higher Education, S S Prasad said the colleges will come up at Satnali in Mahendragarh district, Sampla in Rohtak district, Kharkhoda in Sonipat district, Bahal in Bhiwani district, Bharia in Kurukshetra district and Jasia in Rohtak district from the next academic session.
Emphasising on the quality in higher education, Prasad said the government has already taken effective measures for capacity building in this direction.
"Now efforts are being made to improve the quality of education," he said adding, in the past six years, the number of universities in the state has gone up from nine to 34.
Apart from this, 28 new colleges have been opened during the past five years and language labs have also been started in 31 colleges for improvement of communication skills and to enhance employability of students, he said.
The Rajiv Gandhi Education City is being developed at Kundli in Sonipat where world class educational institutes will set up their centres, he added.
