Six new HC judges sworn in

Six newly-appointed judges of the Madras High Court were today sworn in with Chief Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul administering them the oath of office.
The new Registrar General T. Ravindran in place of P. Kalaiyarasan, who has now been elevated as High Court Judge, read out the warrant of appointment issued by the President of India.
Following this, the Chief Justice administered the oath of office to Justice V. Bharathidasan, Justice D. Krishnakumar, Justice S S Sundar, Justice M V Muralidharan, Justice P Kalaiyarasan and Justice B Gokuldas.
With this, the strength of the HC has increased to 40.
The sanctioned strength of the court is 75.
Advocate General of the Madras High Court A L Somayaji, Chairman, Bar Council of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, D Selvam, MHAA President RC Paul Kanagaraj, Presidents of various Associations including Women Lawyers Association, among others welcomed the new judges.
