Six suffer burns as gas cylinder leak sparks fire

Five women were among six persons who sustained burns today in a fire which was caused following leakage of a cooking gas cylinder at Dogra Mohalla here today, police said.
According to police, the members of one Jaswant Singh's family were along with their neighbours preparing food in a community kitchen when the incident occurred.
The injured have been identified as Jasbir Kaur, Rupa, Surjeet Kaur, Sharan, Jassan and Rasmeet.
The condition of all the injured, except Surjeet Kaur, was said to be serious as they sustained 80 per cent burns and had to be shifted to Guru Nanak Hospital in Amritsar from the civil hospital here.

Surjit Kaur is was under treatment at the civil hospital, they added.
