Six ultras held, explosives seized

Six militants belonging to different outfits have been arrested by police commandos and Assam Rifles personnel during search operations in Manipur, police said today.
A combined team of Imphal East district police commandos and Assam Rifles 30th battalion arrested a militant of People's Liberation Army identified as Heisnam Babu (26) from Khurai area last evening.
Following Babu's interrogation, two women PLA militants identified as Potsangbam Saroja (40) and Moirangthem Kamala (37) were arrested from Uchekon Kongba in Greater Imphal area, police said, adding six kgs of RDX were recovered from them.
Besides 18 packets of the same explosive were found. A remote-controlled device and two detonators were also found in their possession.
In another search operation, two militants of banned People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK) identified as Laishram Romesh (28) and Sairem Ranjit (20) were arrested from Thoubal and Imphal West districts.
Meanwhile, a militant of Kangleipak Communist Party identified as Moirangthem Inao was arrested from Chairenthong area in Imphal east district yesterday, police said.
Two militants of Kuki National Front (Z) identified as Mangboi Haokip (46) Jouminlal Lalboi (20) were arrested while they were coming to allegedly extort money from state forest office at Sanjenthong area here yesterday.
