Police have sent the skeleton, recovered last week, for medical examination.
According to a senior police officer, it was still not clear whether the skeleton was of a human or an animal. He said that after it became clear that it was a skeleton of a human being, they would determine the gender and age of the person.
After the age and gender is ascertained, they will find if the DNA of the skeleton matches with any of the persons who have been reported to be missing from the area, he said.
