Two police constables Sabbir Mollah of Arambagh and Kanchan Gorai of Bankura were posted at the police camp under Dharampur police station in Lalgarh and in October, 2009 they were on their way to fetch fuel for the camp and were riding a motorcycle from Lalgarh to Pirakata, the police said.
"Suspected Maoist operatives abducted them from a desolate area close to Bidrakuli jungles and since then they were reported as missing. In the mean time, we raided many Maoist hideouts and detained suspects for interrogation.
"The two skeletons were dug out today and will be sent for a DNA test to ascertain their identities. The family members of the two constables have also been informed. Once we get the DNA reports, we will then take up the due process of compensation as per the law, which we could not till now as they were stated to be missing," Ghosh added.
