The women inmates will have a special centre which will be linked with social welfare department for marketing and livelihood measures, the spokesman said.
The decision was taken during an inspection of the jail at Dhangri by District Magistrate Shahid Iqbal Choudhary who visited all the barracks and interacted with the inmates to take stock of their issues, he said.
"The district administration would open a skill development centre at the jail for training inmates in various trades besides providing market linkages for products to be produced by them," he said.
"Issues related to provision of bore-well, power supply and other demands were also discussed during the interaction which will be taken up by the administration for redressal," the spokesman said.
A nodal officer appointed by the district administration would coordinate for grievance redressal of inmates, skill development, legal aid, livelihood support and other issues, he added.
