Skill development training to unemployed youths

The Project Aproval Committee of Odisha State Employment Mission today approved three proposals to impart skill development training to unemployed youths.
State Employment Mission will display the list of trained persons in different skills like driving, home nursing, gardener and other public utility related trades for expanding their employment chances in domestic sector and commercial sectors.
The Project Approval Committee meeting of Odisha State Employment Mission held in secretariat conference hall, observed that anybody interested can source the trained persons from the pool to get qualitatively better service.
The Skill development training proposal for persons with disability submitted by Women and Child Development Department has been approved. A total number of 280 differently able persons will be trained through Vocational Rehabilitation Center for handicapped.
The persons with disability will be trained in trades like tally, basic computer, domestic appliances repairing and soft skill.
The training will be imparted as per the Modular Employable Scheme (MES) models. This will involve a cost of Rs 64,20,000.

Similarly, the training proposal submitted by Tourism and Culture Department involving the cost of Rs 31,12,500 has also been approved.
"This training will be for skill development in hospitality including hospitality assistant Asst Cook, Bell Boy Asst Steward, Indian Cuisine Cook waiter, house keeping etc. The training will be imparted through Institute of Hotel management, Bolangir," they said.
The proposal of Commerce and Transport Department for LMV training of 10,000 persons have got the approval of the committee. The training will be imparted by Government Driving Training School through licensed training institutes operating in different districts.
The project involves an investment of Rs 4,85,00,000. The Committee has also decided to impart heavy vehicle driving training to 1000 persons, they said.
