Punjab Finance Minister Parminder Singh Dhindsa today said skill enhancement is the biggest challenge as the number of educated and skilled youth is miniscule as compared to the available young human resource.
Dhindsa stated this while speaking during the inaugural session of 30th Annual Joint Staff Development Programme being organised by PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry here today.
The disparity between the rural and urban youth needs to be curbed to bring both on par and to bring the former in the mainstream, Dhindsa said while speaking on the session's theme 'Youth and Inclusive Growth'.
Stressing on the importance of inculcating passion, sincerity and value system right from childhood, Dhindsa said in this regard family and school could help both the government and non-government sectors.
Speaking on the occasion, Executive Director of PHD Chamber Saurabh Sanyal said, "It is very important to channelise this youth energy to circumvent the ensuing unemployment and poverty".
