City-based Skipper Limited, engaged in manufacture of PVC pipes and transmission towers, has entered into a tie-up with a Japanese and an European firm for manufacturing and selling high-end pipes in the eastern region.
The Japanese firm, Sekisui, would provide chlorinated PVC compounds for manufacturing CPVC pipes, while Skipper would import specialised products from the European company Wavin.
Director of Skipper Devesh Bansal said these were exclusive arrangements made by the company with the overseas firms for supplying premium pipes in the eastern region of the country.
So far, these products were being transported from other parts of India, he told reporters here today.
The company would also come with three new plants in Ghaziabad, Guwahati and Vizag for manufacturing PVC pipes for sale in the respective regional markets.
With a turnover in excess of Rs 1,000 crore, the combined order book position of the company was Rs 2,450 crore, Bansal added.
