There was a slight respite for Delhiites from the scorching heat wave as temperature settled at 42 degrees Celsius, a notch above the season's average, after hitting 45 degree mark two days ago.
It was cloudy in the morning but as the day progressed bright shunshine pushed the mercury upwards.
"The minimum temperature was recorded at 27 degree Celsius which is normal for this part of the season," a Meteorological department official said.
The humidity was less as it oscillated between 55 and 21 per cent. The MeT department officials have predicted partly cloudy skies for tomorrow.
"The skies will be partly cloudy. The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to hover at 41 and 27 degrees respectively," the MeT forecast said.
Yesterday, the day temperature had settled at 41.1 degrees Celsius while the minimum temperature was recorded at 26.1 degrees Celsius.
