Amritsar once again was the coldest place recording a minimum temperature of 3.8 degrees Celsius, the MeT Department said.
However, the mercury has been rising sharply in Ludhiana and Patiala since yesterday to settle at 11.7 degrees Celsius and 13.5 degrees Celsius, respectively.
Chandigarh also recorded a sharp increase in its minimum temperature which settled at 13.2 degrees Celsius, four notches above normal, the report said.
Karnal in Haryana, which was reeling under severe cold till yesterday, today recorded an increase in its minimum temperature and settled at 12.4 degrees Celsius, three notches above normal.
