Slipper hurled at Raj Assembly Chief Whip
Press Trust of India Jaipur A man was arrested today for allegedly hurling a slipper at Rajasthan Assembly Chief Whip Kalu Lal Gurjar while he was trying to convince some of his community people who have been agitating for few days demanding ownership of a disputed land in Bhilwara district.
Station House Officer of Mandal police station in Bhilwara, Mukund Singh said that the slipper was hurled at Gujar but it did not "hit" him.
A man has been arrested in this connection, he said.
"The Chief Whip had gone to Mandal to speak to agitating people. A man from the mob hurled the slipper when he was returning," he said.
The people of Gurjar community were sitting on dharna in the town demanding that a piece of land be handed over to them. The land is disputed and Muslim community also stake claim on the land, he said.
Meanwhile, the Chief Whip was not available for comments.
