Slum colonies of 6 districts being covered under RAY: J-K Min

Slum colonies in six districts of Jammu and Kashmir would be developed with modern facilities under Rajiv Awas Yojna (RAY), Minister for Housing, Horticulture and Culture, Raman Bhalla, said today.
"Slum colonies of six districts of Jammu, Kathua, Srinagar, Anantnag, Udhampur and Baramulla in the state would be developed with modern line facilities under RAY," Bhalla said while interacting with the slum dwellers during his visit in Udhampur district.
In this connection, housing department has submitted a detailed project report to the Centre for funding after an extensive survey in these districts, he said.
Bhalla said the government has identified about 300 households with 5,770 population residing in slum colonies of Sail Salan and Sangoor villages of Udhampur district for extending benefits to them under the scheme.
He assured the inhabitants that the colonies would be developed with all basic amenities under RAY at par with the urban pockets.
The Minister said under RAY, the government would provide dwelling units, comprising one-room, kitchen and toilet accommodation to each household.
