Small sugar gains on rising demand

Small sugar prices gained further at the Vashi wholesale market here today due to rising demand from millers and consumers.
Meanwhile, medium sugar slipped owing to subdued offtake from stockist and retailers.
Small sugar (S-30) rose by Rs 10 per quintal to Rs 3,052/3,162 from Thursday's level of Rs 3,042/3,162.
However, medium sugar (M-30) fell by Rs 20 per quintal to Rs 3,142/3,302 as against Rs 3,142/3,322 yesterday.
Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:
Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,052/3,162 (Rs 3,042/3,162).
Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,142/3,302 (Rs 3,142/3,322).
