Small sugar rebounds on renewed demand

Small sugar prices rebounded smartly at the Vashi wholesale market here today due to renewed demand from millers and retailers on the back of ensuing festival season.
While, medium sugar variety ended mixed on alternate bouts of buying and selling.
Small sugar (S-30) rose by Rs 20 per quintal to Rs 2,462/2,612 from Tuesday's closing of Rs 2,462/2,592.
Medium sugar (M-30) was quoted at Rs 2,562/2,712 compared to Rs 2,572/2,690.
Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:
Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 2,462/2,612 (Rs 2,462/2,592).
Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 2,562/2,712 (Rs 2,572/2,690).
