Small sugar remains weak amid supply pressure

Small sugar prices eased further at the Vashi wholesale market here today on the back of poor buying support in the face of enough stocks amid mills regular selling.
On the other hand, medium sugar variety gained modestly owing to better upcountry demand.
Small sugar (S-30) fell by Rs 10 per quintal to Rs 2,960/3,042 as compared to Tuesday's level of Rs 2,960/3,052.
Medium sugar (M-30), however edged up by Rs 2 per quintal to Rs 3,072/3,242 against Rs 3,070/3,242 previously.
Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:
Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 2,960/3,042 (Rs 2,960/3,052).

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,072/3,242 (Rs 3,070/3,242).
