Small sugar strengthens on festive offtake

Small sugar prices strengthened at the Vashi wholesale market here today following heavy demand from stockists and bulk consumers amid good festive offtake.
While medium sugar slipped following reduced demand from stockists and retailers and lower millers offtake.
Small sugar (S-30) climbed by Rs 22/20 per quintal to Rs 3,822/3,922 from last Saturday's level of Rs 3,800/3,902.
However, Medium sugar (M-30) fell by Rs 16 per quintal to Rs 3,846/4,082 against Rs 3,862/4,082 previously.
Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:
Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,822/3,922 (Rs 3,800/3,902).
Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,846/4,082 (Rs 3,862/4,082).
