Small sugar strengthens on rising demand

Small sugar prices strengthened further at the Vashi wholesale market here today due to rising demand from millers and consumers.
Meanwhile, medium sugar eased owing to subdued offtake from stockist and retailers.
Small sugar (M-30) climbed by Rs 20/20 per quintal to Rs 3,080/3,162 from Wednesday's level of Rs 3,060/3,142.
Medium sugar (M-30) moved down by Rs 4 per quintal to 3,152/3,296 as against Rs 3,156/3,296.
Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:
Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,080/3,162 (Rs 3,060/3,142).
Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,152/3,296 (Rs 3,156/3,296).
