Continuing the pressure tactics against Congress leadership in Kerala, vice president of an influential outfit of the Ezhava community today resigned as member of the Guruvayur Dewaswom Board.
Thussar Vellapally, vice president of the Sreenarayana Dharma Paripalana Yogam and son of SNDP General Secretary Vellappaly Natesan, told reporters that he had decided to quit after a collective decision taken in consultation with the other influential outfit, the Nair Service Society.
His resignation came in the wake of the SNDP and NSS resolving to resign from the posts accorded to them by UDF government after the Alappuzha DCC passed a resolution with some personal references against NSS Secretary G Sukumaran Nair and Vellappaly Natesan.
Sukumaran Nair's daughter Dr Sujatha had resigned from the syndicate of the MG University on May 27.
