Social activist surrenders, sent to judicial custody

She surrendered before Judicial Magistrate S K Maharaja.

Barla, convener of the Adivasi-Moolvasi Astitva Raksha Manch, had led an agitation at Angara in Ranchi district to demand job cards under MGNREGA after which police filed an FIR.

Following an arrest warrant and her failure to surrender, the court had declared her an absconder.
