Sodhi, Rathore to compete in Asian shooting event

Besides the double trap duo, veterans Manavjit Singh and Mansher Singh will also be seen in action in the trap event.

The tournament has attracted entries from across the world, with the numbers rising to 187.

The NRAI is holding the Shotgun Championship and Grand Prix from November 28 to December 9.

"There has been a very good response from the Asian countries. Till now we have received a total of 187 entries for both the competitions. 110 entries have been received from Asian countries for 2nd Asian Shotgun Championship.

"There are 77 entries for Grand Prix from Italy, Turkey, Australia, Scotland & India. We hope that the other countries, who are participating in 2nd Asian Shotgun Championship, would give their entries for Grand Prix," the National Rifle Association of India said in a statement.

India is fielding a strong contingent of 23 shooters in trap, double trap and skeet events.

Bhattakarka Bunnag of Thailand has been nominated as ASC Technical Delegate by the Asian Shooting Confederation.

The medals would be awarded in individual and team category. The team consists of three shooter per country.

The prize money list for winners of Grand Prix:

Trap Men: USD 13000.00

Trap Women: USD 10000.00

Skeet Men : USD 13000.00

Skeet Women: USD 10000.00

Double Trap Men : USD 13000.00.
