Sofuoglu to start on pole at Moscow
Press Trust of India New Delhi With heavy rains forcing cancellation of second qualifying session today, Mahi Racing Team India rider Kenan Sofuoglu will start on pole for the Moscow leg of the World Supersport Championship on the basis of his strong performance in the first classification period.
The weekend has been severely affected by heavy downpour and the stewards had to call off the qualifying session due to unsafe track conditions.
The world champion Sofuoglu would start the race on pole position by virtue of his 1'38.088 seconds timing in Qualifying one yesterday.
Tailing him would be Sam Lowes of Yakhnich Honda with home rider Vladimir Leonov taking third spot on the grid.
Other Mahi Racing team rider Fabien Foret will start the race on eighth spot.
