With a vision of transform Indian agriculture, the fair will create awareness among farmers about soilless agriculture, considering the shrinkage of farming land across the country, R Shasikumar, Chairman of Agri Intex told reporters here today.
This method is performed in controlled environments and set up anywhere without depending on land space and fertility, K Ramasamy, Vice Chancellor of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, the joint organisers, said.
Special focus would be on solar pumping, micro irrigation, precision farming, farm mechanisation, automation, value addition, agro marketing and animal husbandry, he said.
A conference on July 18, titled 'Next Generation Indian Agriculture, would see experts in various agriculture fields throw light on various aspects, Shasi Kumar said.
The Intex will be inaugurated by state Agriculture minister R Vaithilingam.
