Solanki bats for empowering blind students

Haryana and Punjab governor Prof Kaptan Singh Solanki today emphasised the need for empowering blind students by imparting them education and vocational training so that they can live life with pride and dignity.
Appreciating the role of Major General Rajinder Nath (Retd), the Chairman, the staff and management of the Institute for the Blind here, Solanki said that the wheel of society is running on good deeds, positive thinking, dedication, determination and commitment.
"All these aspects are found in the management of this Blind Institute, because of which it is functioning smoothly and fulfilling all basic needs of the students," he said.
He said that he was happy to know that Major General Rajinder Nath is serving in this institute since 1983.
The governor went around all the class rooms and evinced keen interest in Braille press room, computer, girls hostel and separate gymnasium for boys and girls.
He described blinds a "national asset" to the society and emphasised that they should not be taken as a liability.
He said that it's appreciable that the institution is providing homely upbringing, proper guidance to all 156 students to transform them into self reliant and useful citizens of the Society.
The Governor assured the management that the Administration would provide all possible help to meet the genuine demands of the institution.
