Congress today accused the Centre of deliberately delaying 'One Rank One Pension' scheme and said that after fighting wars with China and Pakistan the soldiers were now forced to fight with the government.
Congress leader Deepender Hooda asked the government to declare the date of its implementation.
"For the first time in the country the soldiers who fought wars with China and Pakistan are now forced to fight the government," he said.
Hooda, who is Congress whip in Lok Sabha, said that years old demand of ex-servicemen was approved during the UPA regime. He said that he has moved a notice in Parliament on the issue seeking the Government's reply.
The Congress leader today visited Jantar Mantar to extend his support to ex-servicemen, who are demanding quick implementation of the scheme.
Later, in a statement released by his office here, Hooda said that it was unfortunate that the retired personnel are forced to sit on hunger strike against the Government.

He attacked the BJP, saying that like its other poll promises, the party had back tracked on its promise of implementation of 'one rank one pension' to the ex servicemen.
He said that OROP is also a concern with the soldiers and officers presently serving in the Defence Forces.
He further added that the retired defence personnel understand that BJP Government is trying to avoid the implementation of 'one rank one pension' through the complexities of bureaucracy.
Questioning the intentions of the present government, he said that the previous UPA government had accepted the recommendations of the Koshiyari Committee in letter and spirit, in which an annual budget of Rs 9000 crore was proposed.
While in the previous budget of the NDA government only Rs 1,000 crore was allocated for the scheme which is not even sufficient for three months, Hooda claimed in his statement.
