After its success at Nashik, Somanda Vineyards plans to replicate its vine village concept at three other locations with two in Maharashtra and one in Goa, a senior company official said.
"Today we have established Soma brand as not just a wine manufacturing firm, but we have taken it to the next level by developing a vine village comprising of a resort, villas and facilities for adventure sports," Somanda Vineyards Chairman and Managing Director Pradeep Pachpatil told PTI here.
In 2006, Soma Vine Village at Nashik was integrated with Beyond Resort founded by Pachpatil, which is now called as Soma Vineyard Resort.
The 25-acre Soma Vine Village comprises a 47-room resort, three luxurious villas, three restaurants and an adventure sports centre 'Zonkers', apart from a vineyard spread of over 14 acres.
"We want to replicate this model at other locations as well and change the concept of vineyard from being just a place that produces grapes and manufactures wine. We are looking at replicating the model in the outskirts of Mumbai, one in Lonavala and another in Goa," he said.
Pachpatil said he is in talks with various landowners where such vine resorts can be set up.

He, however, did not disclose the amount of investments required for the expansion of this business.
"This is at a very preliminary stage so I will not be able to give exact investment numbers but I am in talks with a few land owners and developers to set up vine resorts at different locations," Pachpatil said.
He further said, the company wants to increase the manufacturing capacity at its Nashik winery from one lakh litres to five lakh litres by 2022.
"We already have 13 variants of wine. But now I want to introduce some more varieties to suit the palate not just of the Indian wine lovers but also that of our foreign tourists," Pachpatil said.
The varietals include Chenin Blanc Silver, Chenin Blanc Gold, Sauvignon Blanc Silver, Sauvignon Blanc Gold, Brut Cuvee, Sec-Tale, Rose Sparkling, Rose Gold, Shiraz, Shiraz Cabernet. The Chenin and Sauvignion Blanc and Rose make up the dessert wine range.
