Tile maker Somany Ceramics on Thursday, reported a jump of 70.63% in its standalone net profit at Rs 17.9 crore for the first quarter ended June 30 on account of lower expenses.
It had posted a net profit of Rs 10.49 crore in the same period last year, Somany Ceramics said in a BSE filing.
The company's total income from operations increased by 5.15% to Rs 413.85 crore during the April-June quarter as against Rs 393.55 crore in the year-ago period.
Its overall expenses stood at Rs 386.14 crore, up 3.14%, compared with Rs 374.38 crore in the corresponding quarter a year ago.
Shares of Somany Ceramics closed 3.98% lower at Rs 600 apiece on BSE.
