"Some leaders in the moderate Hurriyat, led by Mirwaiz, are weighing their options to contest the assembly poll in 2014," Rashid, an MLA from Langate segment, told reporters here.

The legislator, who had moved a clemency resolution in the state assembly for Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru, said many mainstream activists, including sarpanches and panches, were seen rubbing shoulders with separatist leaders at a function in Langate area in Kupwara district yesterday.

The People's Conference faction, headed by Bilal Gani Lone, had organised a rally in Langate area to mark the 10th death anniversary of his father Abdul Gani Lone who was killed by militants at Eidgah here.

Hitting out at former Hurriyat chairman Abdul Gani Bhat, the independent MLA said "the UN resolutions on Kashmir can never be irrelevant."
