"Chandrasekhar Reddy, 56, shot himself with his licensed revolver at his Banjara Hills residence," Assistant Commissioner of Police (Banjara Hills Division) D Uday Kumar Reddy, told PTI.
DCP A Venkateswara Rao said he fired one round on his head and was reportedly under depression due to some health issues.
Family members rushed him to a nearby hospital where Reddy, who was an architect-cum-builder, succumbed to his injuries during treatment, police said.
When asked about the reasons behind the extreme step, police refused to delve into details saying that further investigation is on.
