"Congress members are hurling placards on the Chair (of the Speaker) right under the nose of their President Sonia Gandhi...Gandhi will have to take the blame squarely for the washout of the Monsoon session," Union Minister Niramala Sitharaman told a press conference at BJP headquarters here.
She said the 2010 Winter session was washed out over demands for a JPC on 2G scam.
"But then it was a clear case of corruption as brought out by CAG. There were statements that Prime Minister was not kept in the loop on 2G allocation. There were claims that he was told but no minutes of the meetings were maintained. In this case (Lalit Modi) now, there is no violation of law that has happened," she said.
Dubbing Congress as "confused", Sitharaman said earlier the party demanded a debate on the Lalit Modi issue. But when the government agreed for it immediately "and to the shock of Congress", they demanded that the resignations should come first and only then would they participate in any debate.
