"If Assam has to become one of the top states in the country and develop its socio-economic condition, then government employees must set an example of work culture for the young generation and they will come forward to participate in the nation building process through hard work and dedication," Sonowal said while laying the foundation stone of Sadou Asom Karmachari Parishad's (SAKP) office headquarter here today.
The chief minister acknowledged the support of the employees in the campaign against corruption and hoped they would continue with it.
Referring to the Global Investors' Summit scheduled here in February, he said the state government has been organising roadshows in different parts of the country and the world for bringing investments to the state.
Sonowal also urged the SAKP to consider starting working hours in government offices from 9.30 am in view of early sunrise in these parts of the country.
