Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal today adviced youths to refrain from adopting unfair means to achieve success.
There is no short-cut to success and youths must put in best efforts to be successful in life, he said at a function to distribute scholarships to 55 candidates, who qualified the UPSC Preliminary examination.
Sonowal hoped that increasing the scholarship amount for UPSC Prelims-qualified candidates from Rs 50,000 to Rs 1.25 lakh, would significantly encourage aspirants for civil services.
The coaching programme conducted by the State Level Advisory Committee for Students and Youth Welfare has also been extended from 25 days to five months.
