Sony music, Balaji pictures ink 3-film music deal

Sony Music Entertainment and Balaji Motion Pictures have signed a three film music deal for the production house's upcoming movies 'Ek Thi Daayan', 'Shootout At Wadala' and 'Kuku Mathur Ki Jhand Ho Gayi'.
"We have worked with Balaji in the past and they have always given us hits. This is our first big association with them on three prestigious projects. We are thrilled to be working with the team again," said Sanujeet Bhujabal, MD, Sony Music India.
Sony previously partnered Balaji for 2011 film 'Shor In The City'.
"The Sony Music team is very proactive, passionate and forward thinking, and have worked on some of the biggest Bollywood hits in recent times. We are glad to be associating with them on three important films," said Tanuj Garg, CEO Balaji Motion Pictures.
The first of the three films to hit screens is supernatural thriller 'Ek Thi Daayan', a co-production with Vishal Bhardwaj, who has also composed the music. The lyrics have been penned by Gulzar. 'Ek Thi Daayan' stars Emraan Hashmi, Kalki Koechlin, Konkona Sen Sharma and Huma Qureshi, and will hit screens on April 18.
The soundtrack of 'Shootout at Wadala' has six tracks and four remixes. An ensemble of music directors (Anu Malik, Anand Raaj Anand, Meet Bros Anjjan & Mustafa Zahid] have created a variety of tracks for the film which releases on May 1.
'Kuku Mathur Ki Jhand Ho Gayi' is a Delhi-based comedy, which is a co-production with Bejoy Nambiar. It is slated for a September 2013 release.
