Sony Pictures Entertainment has become the victim of a large-scale cyber attack.
The motion picture giant's computer systems in New York City, Culver City, CA and overseas offices were shut down by a cyber intrusion on Monday, reported BBC online.
A spokesperson for the corporation said of the incident: "Sony Pictures Entertainment experienced a system disruption, which we are working diligently to resolve."
The perpetrators of the attack and their motivation are also unknown at this time.
Sony Pictures Entertainment is one of the world's largest film production and distribution companies, with high-profile upcoming projects including 'Bond 24', 'Sausage Party' and 'Angry Birds'.
