Actor Chitrangada Singh, who turned producer with sports biopic "Soorma" is happy that the film, which revolves around the life of hockey player Sandeep Singh, has been embraced by the audiences.
The film, according to the producers, has collected Rs 13.90 crore at the box office in its first weekend. "Soorma" released on July 13.
"It's a brand new feeling!! To finally see two and a half years of patience and passion on screen. What makes it more emotional is the response the story of Sandeep Singh is getting.
"It's like he was awarded the Arjuna award for his professional achievements but the love and accolades and support he is getting for his personal achievement makes it worthwhile," she said in a statement.
Chitrangada will next be seen in Nikkhil Advani's "Baazaar" with Saif Ali Khan and "Saheb Bibi Aaur Ghulam 3".
