The SOS Children's Village today said it has suspended its arrested Guwahati assistant village director for his alleged misconduct against three minor girls who were inmates of the Village here.
The police arrested the assistant village director on August 3 and he was suspended by the SOS Village authorities the same day, according to a release issued by the organisation.
It said it was regrettable that such an act has allegedly been committed by an employee and SOS India would cooperate with the authorities so that justice is delivered to the girls who were aged between 12 and 13 years.
The three girls have recorded their statements before the Judicial Magistrate First Class, Kamrup (Metro).
The Village is providing counselling support to the three girls.
SOS Children's Villages International, the umbrella organization of which SOS Children's Villages India is a member, is also closely monitoring the situation through its Regional Office for Asia, the release said.
