The Additional District Magistrate, Assistant Commissioner, Tehsildar Ferrargunj, and other concerned Revenue staff and other officials also accompanied the DC to Tirur yesterday, the sources said.
A meeting-cum-interaction was held in Tirur area at Herbatabad village under Tushnabad Gram Panchayat where people from Tirur, Tushnabad, Manpur, Hobdypur, Collinpur and
Herbatabad villages participated in the campaign.
The provisions of regulation on the Protection of Aboriginal Tribes (PAT) which recently got the Union Cabinet nod, were deliberated at length with the panchayat representatives and general public and most of the confusions and apprehensions were clarified and allayed by the district team.
The panchayat representatives and general public raised issues like land sliding and construction of retaining walls for the safety of houses of local residents, non-construction of a 300 metre of road despite surrendering of land, some pending sub-division cases, compensation for sub-mergence of land, pending demarcation matters and conducting disaster management mock drill in Tushnabad area in the meeting.
