South Asian Film Festival to enthral US audience next month

Several prominent films from India, Pakistan and Afghanistan reflecting the regional cultural diversity will be screened at the third annual South Asian Film Festival to be held in a suburb of the US capital next month.
The three-day Film Festival beginning September 12 will be held at AMC Loews Rio Cinemas at Gaithersburg in Maryland and several prominent films from India, Pakistan and Afghanistan would be screened, organisers Cesar Productions announced today.
The theme of the festival is 'Experience different cultures through films'.
Among the films to be screened are Josh and Chamailee from Pakistan, Wajma from Afghanistan, in addition to many regional films from India.
Among the highlights of this year's South Asian Film Festival includes 'Retrospective of Prakash Jha's films'.
"In memory of Farooq Sheikh we are screening his last film Club 60, and we will be the first in the US to screen Cine Play of Nandita Das 'Between the Lines'," Cesar Productions said in a statement.
The red carpet gala reception and the opening ceremony on September 12 would be attended by Jha, actor-director Nandita Das and actor Manoj Bajpayee.
