South Eastern Railway officials discuss devp work with MPs

Nine MPs from both Houses of Parliament today discussed development work being carried out by South Eastern Railway (SER) with its top brass.
SER general manager S N Agarwal apprised the MPs about various developmental measures taken and gave an overview of its ongoing projects, South Eastern Railway spokesperson Sanjoy Ghosh said here.
The meeting of the divisional committee of MPs from Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha whose areas are served by Kharagpur and Adra Divisions of SER was held at its headquarter in Garden Reach here.
Arjun Charan Sethi, Ram Tahal Choudhary, Ravindra Pandey, Sisir Adhikari, Dibyendu Adhikari, Munmun Sen (Dev Verma), Mriganka Mahato, Soumitra Khan and Sunil Kumar Mondal are the MPs who attended the meeting.
Discussions were held regarding ongoing projects, stoppage of trains, extension of services, providing hygienic ambiance to the passengers, cleanliness of railway stations and premises, Ghosh said.
Such meetings between MPs and zonal railways have been initiated by Indian Railways so that there is direct communication for exchanging information and ideas to improve amenities, safety and security of the passengers to sustain the confidence of travelling passengers as well as local people, he said.
