The air intelligence unit of the Mumbai Customs today arrested a South Korean national for allegedly smuggling 15 kilograms of gold worth Rs 4.15 crore.
"We have seized 15 kg of gold from a South Korean passenger, who arrived from Hong Kong at the Mumbai International airport," said a customs official.
The official said personal search of the passenger Kim Youngjin resulted in the discovery of gold.
Kim smuggled the gold in pockets of a specially stitched white-coloured cloth jacket. The jacket had 18 pockets, the official said, adding 15 gold bars each weighing one kilogram were found inside the apparel.
