The Gurgaon Police has booked a South Korean restaurant owner at Sector-29 here for allegedly assaulting a waitress working under him.
The accused, Jin bum Kim, reportedly pushed the victim and threw cigarettes, lighter and water bottles at her in a fit of rage on Monday night, police said.
The victim, hailing from Manipur, suffered head and back injuries in the incident, they said.
Jin bum Kim had hired two waitresses, both natives of Manipur. They were to serve customers from Korea. As the waitresses were not informed about the guests in advance, there was some delay with the services," Gurgaon Police PRO Ravindra Kumar said.
"The restaurant owner lost his cool when his customers complained to him about the delay. He reportedly called the waitresses to his office and assaulted one of them," he said.
Kumar said an FIR was registered against the accused at Sector 29 police station yesterday and the investigation is underway.
We are also examining the CCTV footage, he added.
