South-west monsoon stuck over south-east portion: MeT

South-West Monsoon which entered Rajasthan last week has not advanced from the south-east part of the state due to unfavourable wind conditions with the MeT department predicting similar weather conditions over the next few days.
"Monsoon has covered partial areas (Sawaimadhopur district and nearby region) of the state. Wind conditions are not favourable therefore the monsoon has not further advanced. For at least three-four days, the situation is likely to remain the same," MeT Director A K Srivastava, told PTI.
He said the monsoon would advance and cover other areas of the state after conditions become favourable which is most likely going to happen after four days.

Meanwhile, light to moderate rainfall occurred in many areas of the state with Pahari (Bharatpur) receiving maximum of 9 cm rains followed by Pratapgarh at 7 cm till this morning starting yesterday.
Vijay nagar, Alwar, Aspur recorded 5 cm of rainfall each whereas other places received below 5 cm rains, according to Met department here.
Many places in Udaipur, Kota and Ajmer divisions, few places in Jaipur, Bharatpur and Jodhpur division and isolated areas in Bikaner division recorded light to moderate rains during this period.

Since this morning, Dabok, Barmer, Kota and Jodhpur recorded 4.4, 4, 1.4 and 0.4 mm rains respectively.

Meanwhile, Churu was recorded as the hottest place today where the day temperature was 42 degrees Celsius.
Barmer and Jaisalmer recorded maximum of 39.4 degrees Celsius while Sriganganagar, Jaipur and Jodhpur registered day temperatures of 39.3, 39 and 36.6 degrees Celsius respectively.
