Soybean prices on Tuesday rose by Rs 54 to Rs 3,756 per quintal in futures market as traders created fresh positions tracking positive spot demand.
On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, soybean for April delivery rose by Rs 54, or 1.46 per cent, to Rs 3,756 per quintal with an open interest of 72,170 lots.
Soybean for May delivery went up by Rs 64, or 1.76 per cent, to Rs 3,596 per quintal with an open interest of 74,150 lots.
Market players said raising of fresh positions by speculators on the back of high demand mainly led to rise in soybean prices.
