Soybean prices on Thursday fell 3.95 per cent to Rs 3,456 per quintal in futures market as participants cut down their positions on weak spot demand.
On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, soybean contracts for March delivery fell Rs 142, or 3.95 per cent, to Rs 3,456 per quintal with an open interest of 31,860 lots.
Soybean for May delivery also eased by Rs 140, or 4 per cent, to Rs 3,362 per quintal with an open interest of 1,31,945 lots.
The fall in soybean prices in futures trade was mostly due to reduction of exposure by participants, marketmen said.
